We needed some kind of bar in between the kitchen and living room. We bought two Ikea cabinets. Screwed them both on the floor and wall. We put thick plywood on the back of the two cabinets to make it very sturdy. Brian also built a small ledge for the feet.
I found this awsome online tile website www.cooltiles.com that sells the kinds of glass mosaic tiles we were looking for. So reasonably too.
I love doing tile. I used the same tile behind the hood range.
